Great mid season wrap up Bruce. I’d comment at MO, but I won’t sign up for their lame comments. I’m sure they are thrilled about that.

Dorna was doing a good job until the aero era, it seems they’ve lost their way. It also seems like that way was prompted by low attendance since covid to make these changes. Since I’m sure Carmelo pores over your fine write ups and this comment section, being the bastion of wisdom both are, here’s three suggestions for him:

    1) Go back to 500, 250, and 125 classes, four stroke of course. Open class SS sales have tanked so “win on Sunday, sell on Monday” is irrelevant. Tracks have increased safety measures, but 300+hp may still be too much for many of them. Also, 125 sales are huge in other countries. Remember when Dorna went down to 800 at one point, but said it was more dangerous, not less? Moto 2 is now 765 without a peep about danger. Odd.

    2) Many riders current and past don’t think much about the current gizmos and especially aero. Most think it makes passing more difficult, leading to snoozy races. Cut back on this stuff.

    3) Cut the riders some slack and stop the sprint races.

    4) I know I said three, but here’s a bonus Carmelo, cut ALL teams down to 4 bikes max, yes I’m referring to Ducati’s 8 bike advantage. You’re welcome.

I’m sure we’ll see these changes soon given my standing with Dorna. Lol.

Contributing a late reply to say I agree with Starmag’s negative quality assessment of the new MO commenting system. But I did sign up in hopes things will improve, and commented on the mid/season report. I think MO is making a huge mistake not including ALL of your reports there. Always entertaining and informative (even if I don’t always agree on the conclusions – but that’s half the fun)
